Whenever I am given a chance to do what I want, I stick to my metallic waxes.

I am back with an altered CD 💕

The owl, and other animals, flowers etc are clay castings from the mould collection I have.

I have created a star lit night layout which again is my favourite for people who know me🤗

Parents - The unsung heroes 😇

I am sure most of you agree with me on this. They are the ones who live thier lives for us first and then for our kids too!

 There is only one unconditional love in this world and it's of our parents ❤️

This project is inspired by the colours of the NSD mood board and the quote.

I have given the quote a twist "You are the rainbow of our clouds" signifying how parents have been our pillars of support. If not for them I wouldn't have been able to pursue my passion. Without them this quarantine life would have been hell for us. This is a small tribute to my parents 😊

I have used a canvas for the mixed media layout. Mediums used are white gesso, chalk paints, metallic waxes, gold acrylic paint, clay elements, chipboards, art stones, splash sprays, stencils, mixed media paste and few metallic elements.

Believe in yourself : Mixed Media Canvas

Someone rightly said, "Necessity is the mother of invention".

I was out of clay, white gesso etc and had no sea shells with me. I wanted sea shells for my project and started exploring options on what can be done. I came across a recipe for homemade clay and wanted to give it a try. And voila! He made clay with excellent results.

I made my own set of shells and an octopus using this clay(you can check the pics for the making process collage attached)

Next for the color theme I wanted white gesso, which again I had ran out! Made this too at home and used it to prime my Canvas( Had ran out of this too hence used a sweet box for the same 😁) So now you know, why the sentiment added is "Believe". Because, if you believe you can, you will 😊

I am in love with this mixed media canvas I made and proud of it actually. Be it the colors, be it the elements used, be it the layout, you name it and I love it all 😁🙈 It doesnt happen every day for me. There is one thing or the other I always have a problem about in my work. Yes, I am my biggest critic🙈

Everyday is a gift - Mixed Media layout

Mother nature is restoring her beauty back with spring season making its entry😍 

When Corona is keeping us all inside home, the one good thing it is doing is taking us back to our roots, Mother Nature. The air around is way less polluted. We listen to birds happily chirping away 🐦 Beautiful butterflies having thier sweet time with the endless options of newly bloomed flowers🥰🦋

We are getting closer to nature with each passing day 😇 And we realise that "Everyday is a Gift" 😇

My project here is trying to showcase the vibrant colours of spring and the beautiful flowers and butterflies that comes with it 😍

I made this mixed media layout using various mediums and techniques . The main element here is the resin embellishment from @archana.sehgal 

I primed it with gesso, then coated it with chalk paints and metalic waxes of my choice. For more detailing on face I used 3D liners. Beneath this element I added a layer of golden and beige husk to give an additional texture to my project.

Did some stenciling with mixed media paste to give 3D effects. Different kinds of flowers from handmade paper flowers, formarian flowers, fussy cut printed flowers, satin flowers with metallic stamen etc. The next major element in the project are the butterflies 🦋🦋

I decoupaged few of them to the base using decoupage tissue sheets, some fussy cut peper ones and few metalic ones 😁

No mixed media project is complete without the deco stones and I love the texture it gives to the projects. I colored them using splash colours first and then a touch of gold to give a glam effect.

When I look at this project, I can surely feel the spring  🥰

Altered Lantern Fairy House - Mixed media Project

When you have limited supply and you still want to craft, you alter things 😁
Here I have altered a lantern. 

I primed it with black gesso inside and out after removing the glasses first! (Trust me, not an easy job! But a necessity step if u want your glasses to remain unstained with paints). After the priming was done I used a mix of acrylic and chalk paints to give the galaxy look to the walls. I sprayed on some white chalk paints to give the starlit night effect. And arbitrarily added few sparkly ones. To give texture I added few embellishments.

Replaced my glasses carefully back in and filled the inner floor with some fibres, branches  and pearls to give a cloudy heavenly look 😇

I wanted moon to be my focal point as I dint have anything readily available, I cut a crescent from thermocol coated it with mixed media paste and gave it a coarse uneven surface to match the moon's surface. Shaded it slightly with some blacks, Greys, silver to make it look as natural as possible.

For the Angel👼, I used a resin embellishment I got from Archu's Art World and coated it with metallic waxes that I wanted to color it with.
To finish off, I added few flowers and fillers to enhance the overall look of my Altered Lantern Fairy House 🧚🧚‍♀️🧚‍♂️

This can be used as a home decor, office desk decor, add a few fairy lights and it can be a beautiful night lamp too 🎊🎉💃

Believe in Magic

Do you believe in Magic? I do 🔮✨🎩

This mixed project comes in the need of hour to add some positivity to our lives ❤️ 

As a little girl I grew up listening to fairy tales and I am still a big fan of fictions. Fairies are one of my all time favorites 🧚‍♀️✨

I wanted to paint a star lit sky from quite sometime now and I was on cloud nine when I was done with painting the sky on my plywood slice 💃 I used mix of acrylic paints, chalk paints, black gesso, some clay to make the stones, and a beautiful fairy resin embellishment 🧚‍♀️ I am becoming a fan of metallic waxes as they give such elegant finishing to projects 💫 And how can one escape such a pretty project without sprinkling some fairy dust ✨✨

With so much fear and negativity going around let's hope that our God fairy shower her fairy dust on us and protect us and help us come back stronger 💕😇
