A mother's day special tribute to all mothers out there!
Nothing in the earth can match the love of a Mother.
A sentiment is added "You are my Hero" beacuse there is no bigger hero than a Mother on this earth ππ
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there who gave birth, to those who are mothers to thier sisters, to those who are mothers to thier nieces and nephews! Happy Mother's Day to all women out there because we have a mother in all of us no matter what! π₯°ππ

Time and tide waits for none - Guest influencer post for Prika
I love to create something different and new every time I sit down to do my crating. I love working with metallic waxes and wanted to try something that’s close enough to a steam punk mixed media project using them. So, I decided to alter a wooden box that was lying around from my stash.
Below is the list of supplies
· Wooden Box
· Metallic waxes
· Black Gesso
· Metal, Resin and wooden embellishments
· A quilled flower, some old earrings, some Chinese coins from a broken wish tree (that I have been hoarding for ages J) and some gold leaves
· Metallic paints
· Chalk paint
· Cheese cloth
Step 1: Cleaned the surface of the wooden box that will be used as the base for my project
Step2: Gathered the embellishments that I wanted to use for my project.
Step 3: I started by priming the surface of the wooden box and embellishments that I wanted to alter using black gesso. (I dint gesso the metal embellishments as I wanted to retain its natural look). Also, the quilled flower was roughly primed as I wanted to retain some of its natural blue to complement the other elements that I had in my mind.
Step 4: Next I roughly coated the major area with a light brown chalk paint and then dabbed copper metallic paint over it to give a mixed background.
Step 5: I used some old metal earrings I had as wings for my main element clockJ (Talk about shortage of supplies, thanks to the lockdown!). The wings here were added to symbolise flying time that inspired the title of my project “Time and tide waits for none.
Step 6: I started layering up my embellishments the way I wanted it to be.
Step 7: Once I was happy with the layout and assembly, I started coating the embellishments very roughly with waxes to highlight the points I wanted to.
Step 8: I dint want the base copper shade to stand out too much so I dabbed and washed it off using some black gesso and left some bits just enough to highlight the round wooden clock embellishment. Added the sentiment using a metal name tag.
Step 9: Finished off by distressing the outer edges of the box using copper blaze metallic wax
The final Project is ready:
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you like my project.
